Hornet Of The Week
Lynchburg, Va. -- As 2017 begins to get under way, the weekly honor of Hornet of the Week returns as well. The last three honorees were members of the Women's Basketball team but the first recipient of 2017 is sophomore Connor Schroeder of Men's Basketball. The Blacksburg, Va. native, who is a transfer from The Citadel, has helped the Hornets become the top scoring offense in the ODAC, scoring 36 points and snagging 15 boards in the past two games. The Environmental Science major is averaging 14.8 points/game in 26.2 minutes/game and sits in fifth in the conference averaging 8.0 rebounds/game. He has also recorded four double-doubles on the season. The Men's Basketball team is on the road this week, battling the Roanoke Maroons in the Battle of Route 460 on Wednesday and follow that up with a trip down to Hampton Roads for a tilt with Virginia Wesleyan.
