Antonucci leads equestrian to fifth at Hollins IHSA

Roanoke, Va. -- The Lynchburg College equestrian team traveled to Hollins University, earning a total of 27 points for a fifth-place finish at Sunday's IHSA event.
Christina Antonucci (Lake Hopatcong, N.J.) was named the high-point rider of the day, winning both Open Fences and Open Flat. She will join CarolAnne Bekus (Hillsborough, N.J.) and Dani Herzberg (Beachwood, Ohio) as a qualifier IHSA Regionals, qualifying in Open Fences. 
Herzberg and Bekus both competed in the Intermediate Division Sunday. Herzberg finished second over fences and third in her Intermediate Flat debut. Bekus also competed over fences, finishing fifth.
Finishing up the jumping portion of the day, Gina Romano (Chester, N.J.) earned a fourth in Novice Fences. Missy Green (Vienna, Va.) rode for the Hornets in the flat portion of the Novice Division, finishing fourth. 
In Walk/Trot/Canter, Brooke Lindgren (Richmond, Va.) put in a strong ride to secure a second place finish. Lauren Barbee (Mebane, N.C.) soon followed in her respective section of Walk/Trot/Canter, finishing in sixth. Paige Gaut (Spotsylvania, Va.) finished out the day in Walk/Trot, finishing in sixth as well.
