Lynchburg, Va. -- Following a career week in which he set a career best in points, senior Zack Burnett earned ODAC Player of the Week plaudits on Monday afternoon.
The Fairfax, Va. native scored 24 points in the victory against Roanoke and a career-high 37 points in a loss to Virginia Wesleyan. Burnett matched his previous career-high of 30 points just a few weeks earlier against Averett. In the Virginia Wesleyan game, he also set a career mark for free throws attempted (18) and made (14).
Burnett, a Business Management major, is averaging 26.4 PPG in the past five games and is scoring 19.2 PPG on the year.
The Hornets face a big week of conference play as they host the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney on Wednesday and then travel to Ashland, Va. to take on Randolph-Macon for a Saturday afternoon showdown.
