In a battle to the end, Lynchburg and Randolph-Macon dueled it out in an instant classic in Ashland, Va. The Hornets headed into halftime with a three-point lead but the Yellow Jackets made a surge in the second half and held of a valiant last second effort by the Hornets to escape with the victory.

Game Breakdown

- Senior Zack Burnett's streak of scoring 20+ points came to and end but he still recorded 19 points, two assist and two steals

- The other Hornet seniors, Jay Allen and Lyndon White, also scored in double figures as Allen scored 15 points on 7-10 shooting and White recorded his third double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds

- The Hornets frontcourt, junior Logan Seacrist and sophomore Connor Schroeder, combined for 11 points and 11 rebounds

Beyond the Stat Sheet

- Burnett had scored 20+ points in the past six games including a career-high 37 against Virginia Wesleyan

- Lynchburg outscored Randolph-Macon in the paint (32-18) but the Yellow Jackets (13-25) outshot the Hornets (8-21) from deep
