The Hornets started the game strong taking an early lead and holding on until the end and staved off a late surge in the second half, defeating Va. Wesleyan 78-72.

Game Breakdown

-Senior Zack Burnett led the Hornets in scoring with 18 points, going 5-6 (83%) from the free throw line

-Helping  dominate the court with 12 points, nine rebounds, and six assists was senior Jay Allen

-With a combined total of 28 points and 17 rebounds, senior Lyndon White and sophomore Connor Schroeder were both a driving force on the court

Despite being out rebounded 48-38, the Hornets caused 13 turnovers and outshot the Marlins

Beyond the Stat Sheet

- Sophomore Austin Wrighten sparked the crowed with a monster dunk with 2:45 left in the first half

- This is the first game all season that the Hornets had five players score in the double digits

-Lynchburg now sits tied for fourth place with Virginia Wesleyan in the conference with just two games remaining
