Wasps sting men's basketball on the road

Emory, Va. -- The Lynchburg College men's basketball team jumped out to an early lead but couldn't hold off the high-powered Emory & Henry attack, falling 102-81 to the Wasps on the road Thursday evening.

Sophomore guard Chance Greene (Creedmoor, N.C.) led the way for the Hornets with 23 points, while freshman forward T.C. Thacker (Madison Heights, Va.) added 11 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Junior guard Jesse Case (Leesburg, Va.) chipped in 11 points for LC as well.

E&H's Chase Branscomb led all scorers with 34 points.

- Lynchburg looked good in the early going, opening the game on a 10-3 run, but Emory & Henry erased the deficit. The Wasps took their first lead of the game, 21-20, with 11:29 left in the first half as part of a 17-2 run.

- The Wasps held the lead until halftime, propped up by Branscomb's 20-point half.

- E&H added more separation with a 14-0 run midway through the second half. Greene totaled 14 of his points after intermission.



Lynchburg returns home to Turner Gymnasium on Saturday for a key conference matchup with Shenandoah. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m.
