Three men's lacrosse players named preseason All-Americans

Lombardo, McDonald, and Santora all garner third-team preseason honors

Baltimore, Md. -- In the latest in a long string of preseason accolades for the Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team, three Hornets have been named to the Inside Lacrosse Division III Preseason All-America teams, unveiled this week by the publication.

Lynchburg junior attackman Evan Lombardo (Franklin Park, N.J.), junior defenseman Seamus McDonald (Far Hills, N.J.), and senior goalie CJ Santora (Tewksbury, Mass.) were all named to IL's third team. Lynchburg was one of just three teams to have three players listed in the who's who of Division III men's lacrosse.

Lombardo, an honorable mention All-America pick last season, led the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in goals and shots as a sophomore, helping Lynchburg to the program's third Elite 8 appearance by way of a pair of NCAA tournament wins.

MacDonald was a first-team All-ODAC pick and piled up 46 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers in his sophomore season.

Santora led the conference in saves.

Lynchburg enters the season ranked 12th in the country.

The 2018 campaign begins today at 1 p.m. against two-time defending national champion and No. 1-ranked Salisbury.
