Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team ran its win streak to four -- its longest of the season -- with a 25-3 rout of crosstown foe Randolph Wednesday night at WildCat Stadium.
Freshman midfielder Owen Thoreck (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) scored a career-high five goals in the game, headlining multi-goal efforts from seven Hornets.
Sophomore attackman Trammel Robinson (Memphis, Tenn.) netted four goals and two assists, freshman midfielder Mason Smith (Virginia Beach, Va.) added a pair of goals and three assists, and freshman attackman Clayton Jones (Lynchburg, Va.) chipped in three goals and one assist in the win.
LC controlled the match from the outset, winning 21 of the game's 31 face-offs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Lynchburg leapt out to a 14-2 lead after the first period, scoring the final 11 goals in the frame to end all doubt early. Robinson scored all four of his goals in the first 10 minutes of the game.
LC slowed the game considerably after the first-quarter run, carrying a 16-3 lead into halftime. Thoreck scored one of the Hornets' second-period goals to complete a first-half hat trick.
Thoreck scored twice more in the third period -- his fourth and fifth goals of the evening -- to help give the Hornets a 20-3 advantage with 15 minutes to play.
Lynchburg tacked on five more unanswered goals in the final period to end the game on a good note.
Lynchburg will hit the home turf at Shellenberger Field on Saturday, April 21 for a 2 p.m. matinee with No. 13 Washington and Lee. The Hornets will celebrate Senior Day, honoring 13 senior players prior to the game.
