Lynchburg, Va. --  Lynchburg men's soccer team fell just short 2-1 in a heated match up against Mary Washington.

Senior Fredy Flores (Alexandria, Va.) scored the only goal for the Hornets with an assist from freshman Abibi Osman (Charlottesville, Va.).

Junior Dylan McLaurin (Stafford, Va.) made two saves for the Hornets in goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Mary Washington took the lead in the 23rd-minute going into the second half 1-0.

  • Starting the second half of the match, the Eagles were able to secure another goal in the 63rd minute, with the Hornets struggling to find the back of the net.

  • Flores was quick to answer back and put the Hornets on the board with an assist from Osman.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Hornets will travel to Georgia on Sunday, Sept. 17 to face off with Ogelthorpe at 1 pm.
