Men's soccer takes down Eastern Mennonite

Lynchburg, Va. -- Four different Hornets found the back of the net as Lynchburg College's men's soccer team cruised past Eastern Mennonite in Saturday evening's 4-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference win.

The Hornets took a 3-0 lead into halftime, and Fredy Flores (Alexandria, Va.) added the exclamation point in the second half for LC.

- Collin Kashmer (Halifax, Va.) put the Hornets out ahead early, beating the defense down the right side and finishing into the right side of the net in the 15th minute.

- Lynchburg put together another score in the 18th minute when Nate Berning (Chesapeake, Va.) played a ball over the top of the EMU defense that Jon Mackey (Leesburg, Va.) scored.

- Michael Thompson (Clifton, Va.) added LC's third score, heading in Abibi Osman's (Charlottesville, Va.) corner kick for the first goal of the sophomore's Hornets career in just his second game.

- Flores tacked on his team-high fifth goal of the season from close range in the 62nd minute when Ryan Mayolo (Ashburn, Va.) headed the ball his direction.



Lynchburg will look to defend home turf on Wednesday, Oct. 4 against the visiting Hornets of Shenandoah University.
