Bridgewater, Va. -- Lynchburg College's men's soccer team took the lead at the 1-minute mark and held the host Bridgewater Eagles scoreless on their way to a 3-0 victory, retaining an unbeaten record in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Saturday on the road.
Jon Mackey (Leesburg, Va.) scored the game-winning goal in the first minute and added the exclamation point in the 84th minute to lead the way for the Hornets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mackey chased down a through ball from Fredy Flores (Alexandria, Va.) and finished it from close range as the clock struck the end of the first minute for an early Hornets lead.
- In the 35th minute, Zach Thomas (Audubon, N.J.) netted a rebound to give Lynchburg a 2-0 lead.
- Mackey stuck the third goal of the match less than six minutes before the final horn, again assisted by Flores.
The Hornets will play host to Central Virginia United Night on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The 7 p.m. match against Randolph College will take place on Shellenberger Field.
