Men's soccer tops Hampden-Sydney on the road

Nick Morgan tries to beat a defender down field.

Hampden-Sydney, Va. -- The Lynchburg College men's soccer team jumped out to a two-goal lead before halftime and added insurance late to seal a 3-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference at Hampden-Sydney, remaining unbeaten in league play in the process.

Abibi Osman (Charlottesville, Va.), Nick Morgan (Mechanicsville, Va.), and Sherman Mitchell (Southbury, Conn.) scored the Hornet goals.

The Tigers' goal in the 56th minute brought Lynchburg's eight-match shutout streak to an end. The Hornet defense had posted 803 minutes and 36 seconds of scoreless ball, last allowing a goal on Sept. 14.
