Forest, Va. -- Following a four-goal weekend in University of Lynchburg's Shellenberger Classic, Hornets' sophomore forward Abibi Osman (Charlottesville, Va.) earned a player of the week nod from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Osman scored four goals in Lynchburg's 2-0 weekend as the 21st-ranked Hornets earned wins over Dickinson and Christopher Newport. He netted a hat trick, including a bicycle-kick goal that ranked No. 5 on ESPN SportsCenter's top 10 plays of Friday, in the 4-3 victory over NCAA qualifier Dickinson and followed that with Saturday's golden goal in overtime as Lynchburg took down CNU, 1-0.
The hat trick was Lynchburg's first since Nick Morgan's, Sept. 10, 2016 against Juniata.
Osman's weekly honor is the first of his Lynchburg career and the first for the Hornet men's soccer program this season.
The Hornets enter the third week of the regular season with a perfect 4-0 record, which they will put on the line Wednesday, Sept. 12 at another 2017 NCAA qualifer, Mary Washington, at 2 p.m.
