Milligan knocks off men's tennis at Spring Tennis Fest

Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- Lynchburg College's men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to NAIA member Milligan Sunday in the opening match of the Spring Tennis Fest at Hilton Head's Van der Meer Tennis Center.

Sophomore Zack Shane (Falls Church, Va.) and junior Nick Savino (Bristol, Conn.) teamed up for a doubles victory at No. 3, winning 8-6 over the Buffs' Joe Lyttle and Daniel Peacock.

Freshman Luke Sablik (Vienna, Va.) accounted for the second point, winning at No. 2 singles after his opponent retired from the match. Sablik trailed 5-4 at the time of the retirement.

Sophomore Juan Borga (Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA) put up a fight at No. 1 singles, but he eventually lost, 6-2, 6-4, to Milligan's Taylor Graalman.

Lynchburg, now 2-4 on the season, will return to action Monday, March 5 against Baldwin-Wallace at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center on Hilton Head.
