Men's tennis grinds out victory over St. John Fisher

Hilton Head Island, S.C. -- The Lynchburg College men's tennis team took a lead out of doubles play and held serve on the singles side to cinch a hard-fought 5-4 win over St. John Fisher at the Hilton Head Beach & Tennis Resort Thursday at Spring Tennis Fest.

The No. 2 pair of junior Nick Savino (Bristol, Conn.) and sophomore Zack Shane (Falls Church, Va.) cruised to an 8-1 victory, and freshman Luke Sablik (Vienna, Va.) and senior Colton Mullins (Appomattox, Va.) won 8-2 at No. 3 to give LC an early 2-1 advantage in the dual.

LC took points at Nos. 2, 4, and 6 on the singles side to seal the match. Senior Will Nsoesie (Boonsboro, Md.) shone the brightest, winning 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2.

Lynchburg (4-4) will return to Hilton Head Beach & Tennis for its spring break finale on Friday, taking on Eastern Nazarene at 11:30 a.m.
