Men's Track and Field Earns All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Lynchburg College Men's Track and Field has been honored by the The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in their annual release of the All-Academic Teams, as part of the Scholar Team of the Year award. 

The team posted a cumulative GPA of 3.1 in 2016-2017 and were joined by 110 men's teams to share in the honor.

"We're extremely proud of the effort that our student/athletes put forth in the classroom, as well as on the track," said Director of Cross Country and Track and Field, Jim Sprecher. "One of our team goals each season is to earn Academic All American program honors. It's another step towards becoming a model program."

To qualify, your team must accumulate a combined GPA of at least 3.10.

North Central (Ill.) was named the Men's Indoor Scholar Team of the Year with a 3.15 GPA while UW-Whitewater took home the Men's Outdoor Scholar Team of the Year with a 3.15 GPA as well. 

To obtain Scholar Team of the Year status you must finish highly at the National Championship Event and carry a team GPA of at least 3.00.
