From the Draw

The Women's Lacrosse team fell in a heartbreaking loss to the Maroons of Roanoke College in an overtime thriller on Friday evening. The Hornets led by as much as six in the first half but as the fist 30 minutes drew to a close, the Maroons closed the gap but Lynchburg still led 7-5 at the break. After the Hornets scored to extend their lead to three, Roanoke responded with three straight of their own to draw even with Lynchburg at 8-8. The teams traded goals and 60 minutes would not be enough for the conference matchup as the score was tied at 9-9. In the extra period neither team could not get a good chance on goal, that was until the Maroons earned a free position shot on which they converted with 10.6 seconds left.
