Women's lacrosse enters ODAC tournament as No. 3 seed

Lynchburg, Va. -- The Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team enters this week's Old Dominion Athletic Conference tournament as the No. 3 seed, and the Hornets will begin their hunt for a league championship Wednesday, May 2 against sixth-seeded Roanoke on LC's Shellenberger Field.

The postseason game begins at 5 p.m.

Wednesday's winner will advance to play second-seeded Randolph-Macon on Saturday at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., where the league will determine its 2018 champion.

No. 5 Bridgewater pays a visit to No. 4 Shenandoah, also on Wednesday, for the opportunity to play top seed and defending champion Washington and Lee.

The Hornets (8-7) are in search of their first trip to the ODAC championship game since the 2010 season and the program's first league title since 1989. Lynchburg has advanced to the conference semifinals each of the past three seasons.



Quarterfinals – Wednesday, May 2

Game 1: No. 5 Bridgewater at No. 4 Shenandoah – 7 p.m.

Game 2: No. 6 Roanoke at No. 3 Lynchburg – 5 p.m.


Semifinals – Saturday, May 5 -- at Washington and Lee

Game 3: Winner Game 1 at No. 1 Washington and Lee – TBD

Game 4: Winner Game 2 vs. No. 2 Randolph-Macon – TBD


Championship – Sunday, May 6 -- at Washington and Lee
