Lynchburg, Va. -- Lynchburg College's volleyball team defeated Emory & Henry in four sets to collect another Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory, bringing the Hornets conference record to 5-3.
Sophomore Sydney Frink (Chester, Va.) led the Hornets with 11 kills, topping the century mark on the season (105). Frink has already doubled her kill total from her freshman season.
Final: Lynchburg 3, Emory & Henry 1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22)

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets took the lead early and won the first set 25-20 with the Wasps trailing behind them the whole set by only two or three points.
In the second set Emory & Henry tied it up five times before taking the lead 12-9. Katie Heenan (Nokesville, Va.) aced a serve to tie the game at 16 before the Hornets called a timeout. Lynchburg couldn't get ahead after the timeout and fell 21-25.
Lynchburg got back into the rhythm in the third set with a total of 12 kills and seven aces winning the set 25-20.
Emory & Henry tried to rattle the Hornets after an eight-point run to tie the set 21-21, but Lynchburg battled out the victory, 25-22.
The Hornets will participate in the Alfred Tournament next weekend in Alfred, N.Y. On Friday, Oct. 13, they will face Lycoming at 5 p.m. and Alfred State at 7 p.m.. Then, on Saturday, Oct. 14, Lynchburg will match up against Alfred University at 10 a.m. and Houghton at 2 p.m.
