HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first three innings, Lynchburg got on the board in the fourth when back-to-back doubles by senior first baseman Matt Ward (Newton, N.C.) and Hylton resulted in a run.
- Harris came to the plate with the bases loaded an inning later and uncorked a drive over the left-field fence for Lynchburg's first grand slam of the 2018 season. Stevens followed with a solo shot the following inning.
- Lynchburg made it three innings in a row with a home run when Harris launched a two-run shot to left, and Allen's two-run dinger in the eighth followed by another Hylton RBI double brought the score to 12-2 Hornets. The Knights pushed runs across in the final two frames to draw the score to its final standing.
Lynchburg will return to Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Saturday when they play host to No. 15 Shenandoah on Fox Field.
