Forest, Va. -- Seven University of Lynchburg field hockey players claimed All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honors, the ODAC announced with its full release all-conference teams Tuesday afternoon.
The seven Hornets included were the most from any team in the league.
Junior forward Jackie Lerro highlighted the group, earning first-team honors along with the league's offensive player of the year award.
Junior goalkeeper Laurel Nicks joined Lerro on the superlatives as the conference's scholar-athlete of the year, and head coach Enza Steele was voted coach of the year in the league.
Lerro and junior defender Alexis Brown both landed spots on the All-ODAC first team for the conference champions, while junior midfielder Emma Strouse was Lynchburg's lone representative on the second team.
Nicks, junior forward Emily Dudley, junior defender Taylor Green, and freshman midfielder Kessa Romero were all third-team honorees.
Lerro led the conference in goals (20), points (53), and shots (122). She becomes a three-time first-team All-ODAC performer.
Brown also becomes a three-time all-conference player and a repeat honoree on the first team. The anchor of the Hornets' defense tallied seven goals to go with four assists.
Strouse caged two goals to go with five assists while controlling the midfield.
Nicks led the conference in goals-against average (0.98) and minutes played (1226:41), amassing a save percentage of .759 (63 saves). The chemistry major, who holds a cumulative GPA just under a perfect 4.0, is Lynchburg's first scholar-athlete of the year since Shelly Milks won the honor in 2011 and 2012.
Dudley becomes a first-timer on the all-conference team after ranking fifth in the league with 14 goals. She also added four assists and ranked tied for tops in the league with five game-winning goals.
Green, another first-time All-ODAC performer, played at the center of the conference's top scoring defense.
Romero, one of just four freshmen on the all-league list, totaled seven goals and three assists in her first collegiate season.
This season marked just the third time in program history that Lynchburg has landed seven or more players on the all-conference teams.
The coach of the year nod is the 12th for the legendary Steele, who won her 600th game in Lynchburg's regular-season finale at Wooster on November 3.
Lynchburg (18-3) won the program's 20th ODAC title and carries the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III tournament. The Hornets will travel to No. 14 Centre on Wednesday for a first-round game in the national tournament. First whistle blows in Danville, Ky., at 1:30 p.m.
