Lynchburg, Va. – The Lynchburg College men's basketball team celebrated Senior Day with an 80-66 victory against the Eagles of Bridgewater College.
Lynchburg honored seniors Logan Seacrist (Fredericksburg, Va.). Hank Gompers (Arden, N.C), Ricky Southerland (Daleville, Va.), and student assistant Bobby Ford (Madison, Va.) before the start of the game.
Junior forward Connor Schroeder (Blacksburg, Va.) recorded a game-high 21 points while knocking down five 3-point shots for the Hornets. He also had three assists. Sophomore guard Chance Greene (Creedmoor N.C) shot an efficient 3-for-3 from downtown and concluded the game with 17 points while snagging six rebounds. The Hornets also received a double-double from junior Austin Wrighten (Woodbridge, Va.) as he finished the game with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hornets started the game on fire from deep as they knocked down four 3s in the first 5:30 to grow the lead to 14-2.
Schroeder scored 16 of his 21 points in the first half as he helped the Hornets gain a 47-38 advantage going into halftime.
The Hornets went on an offensive drought as they scored only six points during the first 11 minutes of the second half. With 9:17 left, the Hornets were clinging to a 53-50 lead. In the next two minutes, Wrighten and Greene each knocked down a 3-pointer to get the Hornet offense back on track.
Wrighten made a driving layup with 1:26 left in the game to ice the match and give the Hornets a 78-66 lead. He later grabbed a rebound with 22 seconds left to notch his double-double.
The Hornets will play host to Hampden-Sydney on Tuesday, Feb 20 at 7 p.m. in the first round of the ODAC Tournament as the seventh seed.
