Forest, Va. -- Kyle Gallagher didn't let anything by him last week, and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference recognized the University of Lynchburg men's soccer team's goalkeeper for it.
The ODAC office named Gallagher its player of the week Monday afternoon.
The junior from Haymarket kept a pair of clean sheets for the Hornets last week, making 17 saves as his team battled conference rivals Washington and Lee and Roanoke to scoreless draws. He totaled 220 scoreless minutes in goal.
Gallagher's 11 saves in Wednesday's draw with W&L marked a new career-high, and he upheld his end in Saturday's 0-0 result at Roanoke with six saves, lowering his season goals-against average to 0.92.
He has put up four shutouts in the 2019 season and taken part in one other.
Gallagher's is the Hornets' second ODAC player of the week award of the 2019 campaign. Freshman Luke Mega earned the distinction Sept. 16.
The Hornets are back in action Wednesday with a non-conference match at Bridgewater.
