Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg's volleyball team celebrated Senior Day by earning its second straight victory Saturday, beating the Guilford Quakers, 18-25, 25-18, 25-13, 21-25, 15-13 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action.
Sydney Frink led the Hornets with 14 kills and helped the Hornets stay hot on the attack. Lynchburg hit over .200 as a team for the second-straight match.
After dropping the first set, Lynchburg rebounded to take the second and third and the match's momentum along with it. The Hornets trailed 7-4 early in the deciding fifth set but stormed back behind strong defense to tie the score, 7-7, took the lead at 9-8, and held on to capture the set and the match.
The Hornets (12-6, 3-3 ODAC) have won four of their last five matches and look to continue their winning ways against Hollins in Turner Gymnasium on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m.
