Hornet Women Defeat Marlins 1-0

                VIRGINIA BEACH, VA -Junior midfielder Brittany Klippstein (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) scored the game's only goal midway through the first half to give the Lynchburg College women's soccer team a 1-0 victory at Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday night.

                Klippstein scored from Betsy Kwiatkowski (Mount Jackson, VA/Stonewall Jackson) at the 29:16 mark of the first half. Jackie Bader (Fort Washington, MD/Bishop Ireton) made three saves for the Hornets for her fifth shutout of the season. Rachel Calkins made three stops as well for Virginia Wesleyan.

Each team only managed eight shots for game, and LC was awarded five corner kicks to the Marlins three.

Lynchburg closes out the regular season at Eastern Mennonite University Tuesday night at 6 p.m. With a victory, the Hornets will capture the regular-season ODAC title and the #1 seed in the conference tournament.
