At the University of Lynchburg, a variety of resources are available to support the mental and physical health of student-athletes. These services are designed to promote overall well-being, offering personalized care that addresses emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical needs. Below are brief descriptions of each resource and how to access them:
Counseling Services
Located in Hundley Hall on the Terrace Level, Counseling Services provides a wide range of mental health support for students. The team includes licensed mental health professionals, residents in counseling, and graduate interns who offer individual therapy with a holistic, solution-focused approach. They assist with emotional stress, anxiety, depression, and more, offering referrals for additional services if needed.

TimelyCare
Lynchburg has partnered with TimelyCare to provide 24/7 virtual health services for students. Accessible through a mobile app or desktop, this platform offers free emotional support, scheduled counseling, health coaching, and access to self-care tools. Students can receive help with stress, relationships, anxiety, and mental health concerns, with 12 free counseling sessions annually.

Spiritual Life
The University of Lynchburg welcomes students of all faiths and offers support through its Spiritual Life Center. Students can participate in worship services, volunteer opportunities, and justice activities. Spiritual guidance is available to all, regardless of religious affiliation.

Health Services
Health Services offers medical care to all enrolled students, providing support for a variety of health concerns. Located in the same office as Counseling Services, the Health Center offers routine care and support during scheduled breaks, with operational hours that may vary during university closures.

Outdoor Leadership Program (Social Wellness)
For students interested in outdoor adventure and leadership, the Outdoor Leadership Program offers courses that develop wilderness skills and professional outdoor expertise. Participation promotes social wellness through group activities and experiential learning.

Athletic Training
The University of Lynchburg provides dedicated athletic trainers for each sport to ensure student-athletes receive specialized care. Trainers are assigned to specific teams, offering tailored support for injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. Athletes can contact their team’s designated trainer for more information about care and services. The Athletic Training facility is located on the main level of Turner Gymnasium.
