Hornet volleyball sweeps Emory & Henry in straight sets

                 EMORY, VA - Using a well-balanced front attack and solid defense, the Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated Emory & Henry College (25-12, 25-19, 25-22) to win its second conference match of the season.

Lynchburg (8-4, 2-0) has won eight straight matches and won the first road conference match of the season.  Sophomore Rachel Huffman (Virginia Beach, VA/Bayside) led the Hornets with 12 kills out of 19 attempts and added two aces along with five digs in the match. Sophomore setter Brooke Moughon (Mathews, VA/Mathews) led the team with 21 assists and chipped in four digs, junior Elena Kritter (Culpeper, VA/Rappahannock) also added seven kills, two aces and 12 digs.

Sophomore Mallory Stewart (Collinsville, VA/Bassett) stepped up on the defensive side by registering two solo blocks and assisting on another.

Lynchburg will travel to Haverford, PA on Saturday to face Haverford and Juniata before returning home next week.
