LC Women's Soccer Shuts Out Randolph 7-0
LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior Brittany Klippstein registered two goals and an assist to help the Lynchburg College women's soccer team defeat cross-town rival Randolph College 7-0 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
Klippstein scored the first two goals of the game within 37 seconds of each other. She tallied the goals at the 20:48 and 21:25 marks of the first half. Sophomore Angela Bosco assisted on the first goal while fellow sophomore Jenn Snyder assisted on the second goal.
Freshman Dessi Dupuy scored her 23rd goal of the season off an assist from senior Joanie Snyder. Dupuy is two goals away from tying the school record in total goals in a season (25) and remains one of the top leaders in NCAA Division III scoring.
Lynchburg went into halftime with a 4-0 lead after Randolph scored an own goal at 37:39.
Junior Shelley Hoath made it a 5-0 lead at 53:18 of the second half off a pass from Klippstein. Joanie Snyder scored at 57:08 for her second tally of the season while junior Kristen Melchiori made it a 7-0 LC lead at 85:25 off an assist from freshman Katelyn Ludwig.
Randolph (4-9-1/1-8 ODAC) goalie Hunter Gibson made 13 saves in the contest for the WildCats.
Senior goalie Jackie Bader got the start in goal for LC. Junior Audrey Moore came in relief of Bader in the second half and made one save.
Lynchburg (13-2-1/8-0-1 ODAC) remains undefeated in conference play and heads to Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.
