Lynchburg Men's Soccer Ties Washington & Lee 0-0

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's soccer team finished in a 0-0 draw with Washington & Lee University on Wednesday night in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action.

Washington & Lee applied early pressure in the first half, outshooting the Hornets 7-2. Sophomore goalie Michael Releford made two first half saves to keep it scoreless. Releford finished the game with five total saves.

Both teams played tough in the second half through the rain, only to go to overtime still knotted at zero. Each side had a shot in the second overtime period, but the score remained tied for a scoreless draw.

Ben Petitto made two saves for the Generals (7-4-2/4-2-2 ODAC).

Lynchburg (5-7-3/3-2-3 ODAC) will host Eastern Mennonite University on Saturday at 4 p.m. on Shellenberger Field for Senior Day.
