Lynchburg Women's Soccer Shuts Out Meredith 9-0
LYNCHBURG, VA – Seven different Lynchburg College women's soccer players scored at least one goal on Sunday as LC defeated Meredith College 9-0 in non-conference action.
Freshman Dessi Dupuy capped an incredible week with three more goals today, bringing her three-game, one-week total to 11 goals. She has scored 20 goals this season, which leads the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).
Sophomore Angela Bosco scored the game's first goal at 0:59 which was followed by a Dupuy tally at 5:15 off an assist from senior Joanie Snyder. Snyder gave LC a 3-0 lead at 20:38 while by Dupuy scored for the second time at 36:03. Senior Beverly Hoath capitalized on a penalty kick at 41:46 to give Lynchburg a 5-0 lead heading into halftime.
Senior Brittany Klippstein netted a booming shot at 45:50 to push the lead for the Hornets to 6-0. Dupuy scored her third goal off a header at 67:41 off a pass from Bosco. Freshmen Anne Neville Broaddus and Katelyn Ludwig each scored in the last ten minutes of the game to give Lynchburg a 9-0 final score.
Meredith (3-5-3) goalie Sara McCaw made six saves on the day. Senior goalie Jackie Bader and sophomore Karsen Schottleutner each made a save for Lynchburg.
Lynchburg (10-2/5-0 ODAC) hosts ODAC opponent Guilford College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. on Shellenberger Field.
