Lynchburg Men's Soccer Falls in OT to Randolph

LYNCHBURG, VA – After a hard-fought game, the Lynchburg College men's soccer team fell in overtime to cross-town rival Randolph College 2-1 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

Randolph got on the board first in the game when Timmy Songer netted a shot from John Adams at 22:17 to put the WildCats up 1-0.

Lynchburg senior Kyle Symczak scored at 83:37 of the second half off a pass from Chaz Ashton to send the game into overtime. Randolph's Sam McGarrity scored at 99:07 of the first overtime period off a corner pass from Jacob Lusczek to give the WildCats the victory.

Sophomore Michael Releford made five saves in the contest while CJ Stevens made eight saves in the win for Randolph (9-3/2-3 ODAC).

Lynchburg (4-6-2/2-1-2 ODAC) heads to Hampden-Sydney College on Wednesday for an ODAC game at 4 p.m.
