Lynchburg Men's Soccer Defeats Mary Washington 2-0

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's soccer team defeated the University of Mary Washington 2-0 on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Hornets took a 1-0 lead at 8:05 of the first half with a goal from senior Mustapha Dumbuya with assists from seniors Ryan Renfro and Jordan Clark. Clark scored at 58:58 of the second half, giving the Hornets a 2-0 lead.

Sophomore Michael Releford recorded three saves for the Hornets in the shutout victory. Blake Weiss had five saves in the loss for Mary Washington (2-2).

The Hornets (2-2) will be back in action on Wednesday, September 14 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup when they will travel to face the Maroons of Roanoke College.
