Hornet Men Fall 2-0 to North Carolina Wesleyan

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan College men's soccer team scored two early goals and went on to defeat Lynchburg College 2-0 in play at the Methodist College Fall Tournament.

Owen White eluded two defenders less than 10 minutes in and found the back of the net to give the Battling Bishops an early 1-0 lead. Omar Kanten scored on a double assist at 26:14 from Ritchie Duffie and White, and neither team would score the remaining 64 minutes of the contest.

Sophomore keeper Michael Releford made six saves for LC. NCWC out-shot the Hornets 14-3 and were awarded eight corner kicks to LC's one. Alberto Faisca made two stops for the Bishops (1-3-2).

Lynchburg (2-3-1) plays host Methodist College Sunday at 3 p.m.
