LC Men's Soccer Defeats Guilford 1-0

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College men's soccer team picked up a crucial conference win as they defeated Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Guilford College 1-0 on Saturday evening.

Both teams played a scoreless first half in which each team had five shots.

The Hornets broke through at 58:38 with a goal from freshman Thomas Moran off an assist from senior Jordan Clark.

Guilford's Drew Gunter had the best opportunity for the Quakers at 73:37 but was stopped by sophomore goalie Michael Releford.  Releford recorded five saves in the game, as LC's defense held firm for a 1-0 final.

The Quakers (3-4-1/0-2 ODAC) goalie Peter Truitt made four saves in the contest.

Lynchburg (3-4-2/1-0-2 ODAC) heads to Bridgewater College on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m.
