Hornet Men's Soccer Defeats Bridgewater 1-0

BRIDGEWATER, VA –  Freshman Devin Jones deflected in a Thomas Moran shot for the game's only goal to lead the Lynchburg College men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory Wednesday afternoon at Bridgewater College in an important Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game. Jones found the back of the net in the 14th minute of the game.

 The Hornets had several chances at an insurance goal, including a shot by Josh Hinkle mid-way through the second half that hit the cross bar.

The LC defense posted a shutout for the fourth-straight game. Sophomore keeper Michael Releford made five saves to keep the Eagles off the scoreboard. Travis Morris made six stops for Bridgewater (3-7/0-3 ODAC).

LC held a 12-10 advantage in shots, while the Eagles had a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Hornets (4-4-2/2-0-2) host the #16 team in the nation, Rutgers-Camden, Saturday at 2 p.m. in non-conference play.
