Hornet Volleyball Sweeps SVU

LYNCHBURG, VA – Senior Rebecca Loftis blasted 12 kills Saturday afternoon as the Lynchburg College volleyball team rolled to a 30-28, 25-15, 25-16 win in non-conference play against visiting Southern Virginia University.

Loftis made no errors in her 18 attack attempts for a .667 hitting percentage. Freshman Sierra Strathy contributed nine kills and six blocks, while sophomore Brittany Crawford delivered eight kills and eight digs. Senior Rachel Turk had 20 assists while fellow senior Brooke Moughon had 14. Sophomore Aricquel Payne had six kills and 10 digs and senior Marion Lozano added six kills.

Tori Tuttle paced the Knights (3-12) with seven kills and five blocks, while Shannon Romito also had seven kills. Katelynn Tlustek had 21 assists and Jordan Geist had 11 digs.

Lynchburg (17-6) travels to Emory & Henry College for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match Wednesday at 7 p.m.
