Hornet Volleyball Breezes to 3-0 Win over Hollins

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team posted a hitting percentage of .327 Wednesday night en route to a 25-19, 25-19, 25-10 over visiting Hollins University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

Sophomore Aricquel Payne slammed 14 kills in 25 attempts and added 10 digs. Freshman Sierra Strathy had 10 kills, seven digs and two blocks, while sophomore Brittany Crawford had nine kills and a team-high 18 digs. Senior Rebecca Loftis also had nine kills.

Senior Rachel Turk had 24 assists and senior Brooke Moughon added 18 assists.

Haley Ortiz, Ally Reed and Lauren Hays each had five kills for Hollins (3-8/0-3 ODAC). Jessie Deese had 17 digs and Lela Moore contributed 18 assists.

The Hornets (9-4/3-2 ODAC) travel to Mary Baldwin College Thursday to do battle with the Fighting Squirrels at 7 p.m.
