Hornet VB Sweep Hollins in Three

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team breezed to a 25-19, 25-11, 25-13 victory over Hollins University Wednesday evening in LC's final regular-season home match of the season.

Junior Aricquel Payne had an impressive match offensively, slamming 13 kills in only 23 attempts, and added three service aces. Mackenzie Ross posted seven kills and 16 assists while Brittany Crawford hit six kills and added 14 digs. Gabby Myers contributed 18 assists, four aces and six digs, while Sam Page had nine digs. LC had a hitting percentage of .380 for the match, including an even .500 for the second game.

Rikki Martinez had a team-high nine kills for HU (5-23/1-10 ODAC). Lela Moore distributed 12 assists and Jessie Deese had 10 digs.

The Hornets (12-12/7-4 ODAC) will host a first-round ODAC Tournament match next Wednesday in Turner Gymnasium. The opponent and time are yet to be announced.
