LYNCHBURG, VA – The second-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team ended the 2014 regular season with a 10-0 victory over visiting Hollins University Wednesday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest.
The Hornets have earned the #1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament, and will have home-field advantage through the eight-team single-elimination bracket. The four-time defending champion will host #8 seed Eastern Mennonite University Saturday on Shellenberger Field at a time to be determined.
Senior Dessi Dupuy opened the scoring 3:30 into the contest on a feed from fellow senior Angela Bosco. LC would go onto score four more times in the first half and five in the second.
Four Hornets scored two goals in the contest: Dupuy, Bosco, Morgan Singer and Marina Clark. Bosco ended the game with two assists, and Jade Woll and Jenn Snyder also found the back of the net. Kelley Smith handed out two assists and Camille Bartley, Elizabeth Oden and Dana Nelsen each had one.
Lynchburg (19-0/12-0 ODAC) out-shot its guests 37-0 and held a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
