Hornets Wrap Up ODAC Play with Win at Randolph College
LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team won its third match in a row Wednesday night at Randolph College in its final Old Dominion Athletic Conference match of the season 3-1 (13-25, 25-20, 26-24, 26-24).
After the Wildcats controlled the first set, the Hornets responded by firing down 16 kills in set number two to get things going. The third and fourth sets were close with both scores finishing at 26-24, resulting in a Hornet victory against their cross-town rival.
Aricquel Payne put down 23 kills to add to her impressive career total. She supplemented her offensive play with a little bit of defense, providing 12 digs as well. LC libero Sam Page also did her work on the defensive end with a game-high 17 digs.
Jordan Templin had 19 kills for Randolph (18-10, 6-5), while Katherine Lesnak and Lexi Harrington provided 12 and 11 digs, respectively.
Lynchburg (16-11) has finished ODAC regular-season play with an 8-3 record in the conference which currently places them fourth in the league standings. They look to continue their streak this Saturday as they wrap up the regular season with a pair of matches at Stevenson University against Muhlenberg College at 2 p.m. and Stevenson University at 4 p.m.
