Second-Half Goals Lift #4 LC Women to 2-0 Win over Bridgewater
LYNCHBURG, VA – Two second-half tallies gave the fourth-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team a 2-0 victory over Bridgewater College Saturday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match-up.
The first half and the opening 10 minutes of the second half were scoreless, until the Hornets got on the scoreboard. Camille Bartley fired a cross in front of the goal mouth for a one-touch by Morgan Singer to Hannah Olds for the game's first goal on a double assist. LC wasted no time increasing the advantage to two as Singer collected a rebound and found the back of the net three minutes later. Bridgewater had a golden opportunity late to cut the lead to one on a breakaway opportunity, but Tess Frelick made the save to keep the shutout intact.
The Hornets (13-1/6-0 ODAC) out-shot their guests 23-3 and held a 7-0 edge in corner kicks. Hayley Talbot had 12 saves for the Eagles (6-5-1/3-2-1 ODAC).
Lynchburg travels to Hollins University Wednesday for another ODAC match at 4 p.m.
