Lynchburg Women Roll to 11-0 win at Hollins
LYNCHBURG, VA – The fourth-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team rolled to an 11-0 victory at Hollins University Wednesday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game.
Lynchburg scored twice in the first three minutes in identical fashion, as sophomore Hannah Olds found the back of the net on feeds from senior Jade Woll. Olds found Alexandra O'Leary at the 11:18 mark and the Hornets would score three more times before intermission. Christine Domecq, Mary Beier and Kennedy Jakubek each had tallies and Caitlin Mertens, Jakubek and Beier had assists.
LC scored five more times in the second half, with goals by Kelley Smith, Morgan Singer, Frances Foster, Samantha Bagherpour and Amani Jones. Singer, Jones and Tate Royer had assists in the second stanza.
The Hornets out-shot Hollins (0-12/0-6 ODAC) 43-0 and held a 9-0 edge in corner kicks. Audrey Haisley made five stops for the hosts.
The Hornets (14-1/7-0 ODAC) host Eastern Mennonite University Friday at 7 p.m. as a part of Homecoming Weekend. Tess Frelick, Woll, Singer, Sarah Schrader, Alexis Jensen and Beier will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony on Senior Night.
