Hornet Volleyball Takes Three-Set win at Hollins

ROANOKE, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team posted an impressive 25-11, 25-14, 25-20 victory at Hollins University Friday evening in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match.

The Hornets powered to the first-set win behind a .500 hitting percentage and had a .289 hitting percentage for the match. Junior Jen Garrett slammed a match-high 17 kills in only 32 attempts and also added a match-best 15 digs. Kelly Layne had 10 kills (.529 hitting %) and Amelia Dalton contributed eight kills and seven digs. Lynn Walsh handed out 29 assists and Sam Page had 13 digs.

Rikki Martinez and Deja Hadden each had five kills for Hollins (3-16/0-7 ODAC). Lela Moore added 11 assists and Martinez had a team-high eight digs.

The Hornets (7-11/3-5) have a quick turnaround with another conference match Saturday at Roanoke College at 3 p.m.
