Lynchburg Volleyball defeats Eastern Mennonite in Four
Harrisonburg, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team defeated Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Eastern Mennonite University 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-17 on Wednesday night.
The Hornets had a balanced effort tonight, with senior
Kelly Layne leading the Hornets with 14 kills and a .538 hitting percentage.
Jen Garrett contributed 10 kills, while
Mesa Willis and
Amelia Dalton each had eight.
Lynn Walsh and
Gabby Myers dished out 23 and 21 assists respectively.
Sam Page had a team-high 23 digs, while Myers tallied 15 and Willis had 13.
Skyler Johnson led the Royals (9-13/2-8 ODAC) with 13 kills, while Maria Yoder and Janna Williams had 12 and nine respectively. Jasmine Johnson had a match-high 43 assists and Katie Miller tallied a high of 26 digs. Skyler Johnson and Jasmine Johnson also contributed 17 and 14 digs apiece.
The Hornets (8-12/4-6 ODAC) will return to action on Saturday afternoon for two matches at the University of Mary Washington. LC will play against Marymount University (VA) in the first match at 3 p.m. and face the host at 5 p.m.
