Lynchburg Women play to 1-1 Double OT Tie at Shenandoah
WINCHESTER, VA – The ninth-ranked Lynchburg College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie Friday evening at Shenandoah University in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup.
Shenandoah's Danielle Burris got her team on the scoreboard first on a shot from 30 yards out at the 9:18 mark of the first half. LC answered in the 18th minute as Kelley Smith scored a goal from Marina Clark to tie the game.
Lynchburg controlled the remainder of game and nearly both 10 minute overtime periods, not allowing a shot from the hosts until the closing second of the second OT.
LC outshot SU 17-3 and were credited with seven corner kicks to the hosts zero. Erin Septer made six saves for Shenandoah (10-6-1/7-1-1 ODAC).
Lynchburg (15-2-1/8-0-1) hosts Virginia Wesleyan College Wednesday In another all-important ODAC match at 7 p.m.
