Hornet Men's Soccer Extends Unbeaten Streak with 2-0 Victory at HSC

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA – The Lynchburg College men's soccer team defeated Hampden-Sydney College 2-0 Wednesday to earn its first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) win of the season and extend its unbeaten streak to seven games.

LC got on the scoreboard during the 20th minute when junior defenseman Thomas Salamone fed senior midfielder Daniel Jobrack to give the Hornets a 1-0 advantage over the Tigers. In the latter minutes of the half the Hornets added to their lead when Austin Kues found the back of the net to give the Hornets a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Hornet junior goalie Cory Budka continued his superb play making four saves to preserve his fifth shutout of the season. LC had a multitude of scoring chances tonight with 16 shots and nine corners.

Cameron McFarlane stopped seven shots for H-SC.

LC improves to 5-1-2 (1-0-1 ODAC) with tonight's win while Hampden-Sydney falls to 5-4 (1-3 ODAC). The Hornets look to continue their unbeaten streak this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bridgewater College.
