Lynchburg VB Drops match against VWC 3-1 on Dig Pink Night

LYNCHBURG, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team lost to Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponent Virginia Wesleyan College 20-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-12 on Tuesday evening for their Dig Pink night.

The Hornets came out strong in the first set and won 25-20. The second game was close throughout, but the Marlins pulled away to win 25-16. The Marlins put the match away by taking the final two sets of the match 25-15 and 25-12.

Jen Garrett led the Hornets with 12 kills and 14 digs, while Amelia Dalton had seven kills and seven digs. Lynn Walsh contributed 14 assists and Gabby Myers posted eight. Sam Page tallied a team-high 17 digs and Tori Ross and Mesa Willis each had five.

Tiffany Barrett had 16 kills and 10 digs for VWC (13-6/5-0 ODAC), while Rosalind Ludovici posted eight. Emilee Pierson had a game high 21 assists to go along with 12 digs and Kirstin Sessoms had 16 assists. Marin Crowder tallied 16 digs for the Marlins.

LC (6-10/2-4 ODAC) will return to action in Turner Gymnasium on Wednesday, October 14 at 6:30 p.m. to play against ODAC opponent Emory and Henry College.
