Randolph-Macon Defeats Lynchburg Volleyball in ODAC Quarterfinal
Lynchburg, VA – The Lynchburg College volleyball team fought hard, but lost in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament quarterfinals to top-seeded Randolph-Macon College 25-22, 25-23, and 25-12 on Wednesday night.
The Hornets nearly captured each of the first two sets but the Yellow Jackets hung on to capture both by close scores.
Junior Jen Garrett led the Hornets with 10 kills and four digs, while Kelly Layne and Mesa Willis each had six to go along with four and nine digs, respectively. Lynn Walsh tallied 13 assists and Gabby Myers had eight and also contributed three digs each. Sam Page had a team-high 11 digs for the Hornets and freshman Hannah Wolf had a game-high five blocks.
Courtney Lowers had 10 kills for the Yellow Jackets (23-7), while Emily Ortiz, Addie Cooper, and Katie Rossberg each added eight. Riley Martin tallied a game-high 19 assists and Erin Quinn had 18. Samantha Sallade contributed 14 digs, while Lowers had 10 and Quinn, Rossberg, and Martin each had seven.
LC finishes the 2015 season with an 8-18 record.
