Lynchburg Men's Soccer Posts shutout in 2-0 Victory over Greensboro College
SALEM, VA- The Lynchburg College men's soccer team defeated the Greensboro College Pride 2-0 Saturday evening in non-conference action. The Hornets played with just 10 players for the final 56 minutes after a red card at the 33:59 mark of the first half.
LC had a successful weekend, going 2-0 in the Roanoke College Tournament and outscoring their opponents 9-0.
The first half ended scoreless and LC found the back of the net at 59:16 of the second half. Sophomore forward
Collin Kashmer netted first goal with
Matt Truslow garnering the assist.
Ryan Mayolo added an insurance goal four minutes later to give the Hornets some cushion.
Cory Budka made five saves to preserve the shutout. Jaime Payamps made three stops for the Pride (1-3). LC held a 9-8 advantage in shots but Greensboro had five corner kicks to the Hornets' one.
LC improves to 3-1 on the season. The Hornets travel to Averett University this Wednesday for a match at 7 p.m.
