LC Men's Soccer explodes in second half to defeat Averett 4-0
DANVILLE, VA – The Lynchburg men's soccer team improved its winning streak to four games after netting four second half goals to defeat the Averett University Cougars 4-0 Wednesday night.

Ryan Mayolo scored to make it 1-0. With seven minutes remaining in the game, the Hornets were clinging to the one-goal lead when Hornet forward

Chris Dodd to give LC a 2-0 advantage. Just two minutes later LC midfielder
Matt Truslow added to the cushion to make it 3-0. Mayolo would add his second goal of the night during the game's final minute, with the assist coming from forward
Zach Thomas to give the Hornets the 4-0 victory.
LC goalkeeper Corey Budka preserved the shutout, as the Hornets have not allowed a goal during their current four-game winning-streak.
LC improves to 4-1 on the season as Averett University falls to 1-5. The Hornets will begin Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play this Saturday when they host crosstown Randolph College 7 p.m. this Saturday for Parents and Family Weekend.
